Earl Arnold, Sespe Flyfishers' past president and longtime education leader for the club teaches live in-person fly-fishing classes time to time through the Ventura Recreation Department. New this year the Sespe Flyfishers are offering a free four week class for members. Below are listed classes available at this time.
The City of Ventura Recreation Department is offering a fly fishing class in July.
The class over four consecutive Thursday evenings July 2 to 23 6:30pm to 8pm.
The class is six hours and cover all the basics for a beginning fly fisher.
We will cover recommended equipment and gear, knots, fly selection, casting, and fishing tactics for both still and moving waters. No gear is required. A rod and reel will be provided if you need it.
A class manual will be available for $10.
Class fee is $75 for Ventura residents and $82.50 for non-residents.
