Surf Outing, April 13, 2019
Location: Rincon Park Beach
Time: 6:30am to 11:00am
Tim Postel will host an outing at Rincon Park Beach, Saturday, April 13th. The tides are favorable for a good opportunity to catch surf perch. The outing is a prelude to the Riptide Rendezvous that will occur in the same location on May 4th. This is a great opportunity to scope out the beach and get your skills honed. Tim will be happy to introduce you to the thrill of surf fishing if you have not done this before.

Catch a 20-inch trout on a size 20 dry fly. This Sespe Outing to the Bighorn River is planned in time for the Tricot Spinner Fall. It happens early, early, in the morning and is near impossible not to have a personal-best-day. So many fish are feeding you pick one from the pack, cast just upstream and get a take.
There are many great fishing lodges throughout Montana, but the Bighorn River View Lodge and Cabins in Fort Smith, has fine, friendly accommodations, reasonable pricing, and the most incredible view overlooking the fabulous Bighorn River.
Here are the basics:
There is a main lodge with 2 bedrooms with shared bath and 3 separate cabins above the Bighorn River at Fort Smith, Montana. Everything is new and/or completely refurbished.
$120 per day includes lodging, breakfast and dinner. Meals are family style in the main lodge dining room. Happy hour is overlooking the river. BYOB as it is located on an Indian Reservation and the closest liquor store is about an hour’s drive.
You can opt in/out of any meal (breakfast is $15 and dinner is $30)
$75 per night + $45 for breakfast and dinner = $120/day for the full package
A packed-lunch can be ordered for an additional $15 to take out if you are wade fishing, bird watching, or site- seeing, or provided at no additional cost by your guide, if you float the river.
Of course, the River View Lodge reserves a Fishing Guide for your river float. Guides pick-up and drop-off at the Lodge. All-day, 2-angler, float = $500/boat.
